REARRANGE
This project is a stop-motion set I created for my Final Year Project in IADT Dun Laoghaire.
The idea behind this set is that the main character is trying to create a companion for himself by putting together different mannequin parts and other found objects.
As he falls deeper in love with his creation he watches her come to life before his eyes, as well as everything else in his workshop.
I designed and created the entire set myself over around a five month period.
I took inspiration from work by Jan Svankwajer, the Brother’s Quay, Anna Solana and Tool’s music videos. Their bleak colour schemes and disturbing imagery was of particular interest to me.
The set is based on a converted New York style factory.
I used a large array of materials for this project - MDF, plywood, plaster, silicone, resin, foamex, acetate, papier mache, sculpey as well as altering and repurposing some found objects.
The video below was created by Myself & Nadine Kennedy.
